1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ResearchOS ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ResearchOS is an AI-powered collaborative research platform that provides tools for academic writing, paper discovery, citation management, and team collaboration. We offer Free and Pro subscription tiers with different feature sets and usage limits.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use most features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep this information up to date.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
  • Upload, post, or transmit any content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in ways not permitted by these Terms
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Engage in academic fraud, plagiarism, or other dishonest practices

5. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant ResearchOS a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

The ResearchOS platform, including its design, code, and AI models, is the intellectual property of ResearchOS and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service includes AI-powered features that generate text, summaries, and suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before use. ResearchOS does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of AI-generated outputs. AI-generated content should not be used as a substitute for professional or expert judgment.

7. Subscription and Payments

Certain features require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Failure to pay may result in suspension of premium features.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease, and we may delete your data after a reasonable grace period.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESEARCHOS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
